America is prosperous but..
Behind the facade of prosperity in our great country lies a large group of consistently underserved young people.
Many young adults get left behind
Once they drop out of high school for whatever reason, their chances of living at a reasonable standard are severely compromised. If they make bad mistakes at a young age and get into drugs or get incarcerated that future is bleak and dark. With all the potential in the world, their chances of recovery are poor.
Are these not just bad guys?..why should we care?.
There are not many programs that reach out to this group.
They are usually left behind, and without hope life goes into a downward spiral.
How to light their path to opportunities for a better life..
Light The Way Technologies, Inc. is formed as a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation to serve as a pilot group to give the opportunity to them to escape this seeming inescapable eventuality. It is staffed by technology professionals (full time, part time and volunteers) led by a robust governing board of directors and accountable officers who have a passion to make this a true reality. Our focus is on providing technology training and a conduit to jobs with committed businesses, some of which will help to fund this venture.
We will make it possible for the most needy
Students will only be screened to ensure (a) there are no serious abnormal behavior problems (b) they are not on the police wanted list (c) they have the basic aptitude to ensure completion of any of the appropriately selected training course.
LTW-TLC is a beginning..
We hope that as the Light The Way Tech Learning Center (LTW-TLC) achieves its goal that other similar organizations will be formed to teach other disciplines to similar groups.
Hope then reality ..I will and then...we will
It goes without saying, that the personal, financial, community and social benefits will have a profound impact on not just these students but all of our lives in some way.
Training and a job path
Facilities providing selected computer technology training to the needy young people of major cities
A place where they can go on a regular basis to be trained to get technology jobs and to access the huge knowledge base existing on the internet.
The concept will be propagated throughout America
Starting with one central facility this will be extended into the needy neighborhoods and to other cities of the United States, in priority order where the need and potential impact is greatest.
America will be safer too!
Addressing these needs will ultimately provide income and reduce delinquent behavior
The Light The Way Technologies Inc. is a registered not-for-profit corporation currently, and will be operational early this year.
LTW's aim is to equip the underserved inner city young residents with technology skills to make their entry as workers in the corporate and small business world
